Xiaomi Mi Browser to Address Privacy Concerns Raised by Researchers

Recently Xiaomi has launched the latest update for all browsers. Including Mi Browser and Mi Browser Pro as well as Mint Browser. A few days back, there were few privacy concerns raised by researchers to solve that issue Xioami has launched this update.

Xiaomi has updated Mi browser and Mi browser pro to 12.1.4 latest version and also updated Mint Browser to version 3.4.3. In this update, Xiaomi has improved incognito mode.

After update now users can switch aggregated data collection on or off. According to researchers, this function was having some security issues.

The company has not accepted or confirmed anything about this issue until now. But in an update, they have clarified to the privacy, and after this update, anyone can use incognito mode.

By default, in all Xiaomi’s browser, Aggregated data collection function was disabled. But from now you can turn it off or on from browser. Not only that all browsers have got Incognito mode update you can check that by going Settings > Incognito mode.

All MIUI users have MI Browsers default installed so if you are seeking for the update you can do that by going to Settings > System apps updater.

The company said,

“We feel they have misunderstood what we communicated regarding our data privacy principles and policy.”

 

Gabi Cirlig said,

“It’s a backdoor with phone functionality,”

The researchers have found something to worry about. On his Redmi Note 8 at the time of testing device used to track all activities including folders he opened to which screens he swiped, including the status bar and the settings page.
