Microsoft is working on the two new updates of Windows 10. The two new Windows 10 Updates are 21H1 update which will be, coming in the next year 2021 Spring with great features. Then comes the 20H2 update, which will mainly focus on stability and polish.

Here we will check out everything about the upcoming Windows 10 update version 21H1 and 21H2. However, there is no guarantee that these features will be coming in the final version of 21H1. As the features are currently under development. So, these features might come or might not come in the coming update. The same thing can happen with 20H2 version also.

New Icon Theme of Microsoft

Microsoft has got a new icon theme with this other icons are also update. Icons like Settings, Windows Security, Snip & Sketch, Sticky Notes icons are also updated. These new icons look much better with the new dark and light theme.

Disk Management in Settings

Disk Management option is added to the Windows 10 Settings app. Now, you can directly go to Settings > System > Storage > Manage Disks and Volumes. Before this, the user should open the classic Disk Management utility to open the management option.

With this setting, you can view disk information, create volumes, format them and assign the drive letters. The older interface of Disk Management will also remain the same and the user can access it if they want. This new interface in Settings makes your work easy.

Linux Files in File Explorer

Linux files integration will be added in File Explorer. If you use WSL, then you will see the “Linux” option in the File Explorer’s sidebar. To access all your Linux files plug an address like  \\wsl$\Ubuntu-20.04\  into the File Explorer’s address bar.

Improved Graphics Settings for Multiple GPUs

If your system has multiple high-performance GPUs, then the Graphics Settings page now provides you with much control. Go to settings and select a default high-performance GPU. If you want, you can select a specific GPU for each app. Before this, you could only assign a general “high performance” or “power saving” setting to each app. Change these settings by going to Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings > Gaming > Graphics settings.

Windows Task Manager will now show you the architecture of each process which is running. Go to Details tab in the Task Manager and do right-click on the headers in the list. Now, click on “Select Columns” and enable “Architecture” and click on OK.

DNS Configuration in the Settings App

Now, you can configure DNS servers and DoH settings. Earlier, it required to visit the classic Control Panel to do settings.  To do this, head to Settings > Network & Internet > Wifi. Now, click on “Properties” Scroll down and click on edit under DNS settings.
