Earlier, Whatsapp forwarded messages were sent to five chats at a time, but now it has set a limit to one chat. Whatsapp is also testing a feature that will verify forwarded messages on the web.

Whatsapp is rolling out new features for forwarded messages. The latest update of Whatsapp has set a limit to frequently forwarded messages to one chat at a time. The frequently forwarded messages are shown with a double tick on the top of Whatsapp.

Earlier, Whatsapp allows the users to send the frequently forwarded messages to five chats at a time. Whatsapp said this limit led to a 25% decrease in people sending forwarded messages.

Whatsapp is also working on a feature that allows the user to verify forwarded messages on the web. As of now, the feature is available in Whatsapp’s beta version of Android and iOS. The new feature will be available for all the users soon.

The new change in Whatsapp comes to a stop the misinformation on COVID-19. The company has also launched the coronavirus information hub and donated $1 million too.
