In the recent update, Whatsapp introduced a security feature of Fingerprint unlock for its beta users. The latest reports say that Whatsapp is working on a new feature called “Disappearing messages.”
WABetaInfo reported that Whatsapp might be working on implementing a new feature that can make the chats disappear automatically once they are made eligible to disappear. The feature can be enabled from the settings.
Whatsapp’s New Feature Will be available For Both Groups & Individual Contacts
The new feature is still under test mode. It is not made live for the beta users to test the disappearing messages feature, and there is no further information about the new feature.

Normal users and Beta users will not be able to see or use this feature as it is still under development and not made available to the users.
As you can see in the pictures above, the “Disappearing Messages” will have an expiration date of 5 seconds or 1 hour. As soon as the selected time is over, the messages will disappear.
Although, this feature is somehow similar to that of Facebook’s secret conversation where users can set an expiry date from 5 seconds to 1 day for any contact.
