In a transparency report, on Thursday, TikTok Said, it has removed 16 million Indian videos in the last six months of 2019. The reason for removing the videos is violating its content policies. At the same time, the total number of videos removed globally was 49 million.
TikTok Removed 49 Million Videos From That 16 Million Videos Are From India

The company did not reveal which type of videos were removed but it said the AI systems caught 98.2% videos before anyone report about the video. Most of the removed videos did not get a single view. While there were many cases where problematic videos were not taken down.
According to the reports, TikTok has got 302 requests from India. And the US was second with 100 requests.
As compared to YouTube, it pulled around 14 million videos in the second half of 2019. While TikTok removed 49 million videos globally. The company said they did not get any takedown requests from China.

A TikTok Spokesperson said,
“We do not and have not removed any content at the request of the Chinese government, and would not do so if asked.”
The Head of TikTok India, Nikhil Gandhi said,
“TikTok continues to comply with all data privacy and security requirements under Indian law and have not shared any information of our users in India with any foreign government, including the Chinese Government.” “Further if we are requested to in the future, we would not do so,” he added.
