Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro smartphones were expected to debut on March 12 as per the initial schedule but due to coronavirus, it has officially been canceled.
Redmi Note 9 Series Launch Officially Canceled
The much-anticipated launch of the Note 9 series has sadly been canceled. Xiaomi’s Manu Kumar Jain has shared that the reports of the corona outbreak have led to this decision.
📢#Note the update: Due to recent reports of COVID-19 #CoronaOutbreak in certain parts of the country, we've decided to not host product launch events on-ground in March.
This is keeping in mind safety of fans, media friends, employees & partners. I urge you all to stay safe. 🙏 pic.twitter.com/SOdDZtSkmo

The tweet also suggested that it is done to reduce the risk of Covid-19 to Xiaomi fans. Manu doesn’t disappoint here as the tweet promises a live stream instead of an event. So basically, the phone is launching but not at an actual event rather on a virtual platform.
Redmi’s competitor Realme has also scheduled an event for March 5 but the company hasn’t updated anything yet. We guess that the actual launch is happening.
Other than this, the upcoming Redmi and Realme smartphones will feature almost similar specs and great features. Tell us in the comment section, which one excites you more?
