After a long wait for Xiaomi to finally announce the launch of the Redmi 8 series in India, Xiaomi has finally launched Redmi Note 8 in India in an event on Wednesday.

Redmi Note 8 is a 6.3inch IPS LCD that supports the resolution of 1080×2340 and has an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The display is Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which is pretty strong.
The Redmi Note 8 packs an Octacore Snapdragon 665 processor which is built on the 11nm process which is supported by an Adreno 610 GPU. It is paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM. It has UFS 2.1 based internal storage up to 128GB.
The Phone on the rear has a 48MP primary camera with an f/1.79 aperture, a second 8MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture; a third 2MP Macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture and a fourth 2MP depth camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera setup has autofocus. It sports a 13MP camera on the front for selfies, with an f/2.0 aperture. It has Gyro-EIS for stabilization. The rear cameras can record at 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120fps, 720p@960fps.

The phone has a 4000mAh battery which supports proprietary fast charging of 18W. The battery lasts a day with moderate usage. The charging port is USB-C which is a good sign that phones are finally moving to the USB-C region.
The fingerprint sensor is rear-mounted and is fast. The phone supports Dual SIM (GSM+GSM) and has support for Dual 4G so you can use two 4G sims at once. The phone has support for 512GB of External Storage. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor. The phone does support face unlock.
The Phone runs on MIUI 10 which is based on Android Pie (9.0) and is scheduled to receive the update to MIUI 11 within 2 months. The phone is available in White, Crystal Blue and Crystal Green.
The device is all set to be available on the Amazon on October 21st for the price of Rs.9,999 for the base variant (4GB+64GB) and Rs.12,999 for the 6GB+128GB.
