Sony has announced a special showcase event for PlayStation 5. The event will be held on 16th September, i.e coming Wednesday at 1 pm PT/1:30 am IST (Sep 17). In this event, the company will show the feature updates, games coming to PS5.
Sony’s Next PS5 “Digital Showcase” Event Date Announced
Sony has not yet revealed the price and the release date for PlayStation 5. In a blog post, the company said, “before they launch PlayStation 5, they wanted to show some great games coming to PS5 and more.
It will be a “digital showcase” event on Wednesday to announce all the details of PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition. The digital showcase event will be of 40-minutes which will show the updates from Worldwide Studios and Sony’s other partners.
It is expected that the company will announce a launch date of its next-gen gaming console. The pre-orders for PS5 have already started last month. However, still, the official date for pre-orders, price, and the release date is not announced. The launch is expected to be at the holiday season with the other two variants of the console.
The company said,
“At PS5’s launch, we will offer two options: a PlayStation 5 console with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive and a PlayStation 5 Digital Edition without a disc drive.”
Microsoft was planning to announce its Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X launch and price before the price of Series S leaked. The speculate console price can be over $500.

PlayStation 5 will be available in two options, one is a standard version and the other is a digital version. The console will have a custom eight-core AMD Zen 2 CPU clocked at 3.5GHz and 10.29 teraflops custom GPU. There will be 16GB of GDDR6 RAM and custom 825GB SSD. It will come with a new DualSense 5 controller. PlayStation 5 will support advanced visual effects like real-time ray tracing. Till now, more than 35 PS5 games are announced.
