Mitron App is not Indian but Pakistani Application called TicTic

Mintron App is not an Indian but a Pakistani Application called TicTic which was developed by Qboxus, a software company based in Pakistan. Ifran Seikh, the CEO of the aforementioned company said that the Source code of the application was brought by an Indian for $35 which is approximately 2,500 INR. He also states that the person who brought the source code wanted to customize it. He also said “There is no problem with what the developer has done. He paid for the script and used it, which is okay. But, the problem is with people referring to it as an Indian-made app, which is not true especially because they have not made any changes.”
Over 50 Lakh users have downloaded this application after the Chinese counterpart Tiktok faced a huge backlash from many people after an Indian Youtuber called CarryMinati aka Ajey Nagar made a video roasting the cringe videos on the platform. The video was subsequently removed after it violated the terms and conditions of Youtube. More uproar started when a famous Pakistani TikToker Faizal Siddiqui posted a video glorifying violence against women which led the video being removed and his account being suspended. This prompted the application to be rated One star with its rating dropping down to 1.2 Starts and people started promoting the Mitron Application.
Now, It has come to surface that the Mitron Application is in fact a copy and lacks any Privacy Policy, so there is no guarantee what the developer does with the data collected from the application. Mitron was reportedly developed by an IIT-Roorkee student with the developer site being hosted on shopkiller.in which returns a null page and a basic domain search shows that it is owned by someone in Uttarakhand.
