Finally, LG has announced about the launch of Apple TV on many of its 2019 TV Models. LG TVs will get Apple TV App on the 9-series OLEDs – in more than 80 countries. Last month LG gave an update before CES on Apple TV app will be launched this year on its recent TVs. However, the latest 2020 TV models will already have Apple TV App.
LG launches Apple TV App for its 2019 TVs

At the time of launch, LG did not share the date for when the 2018 and 2019 TV models will get this support; they just said it would get the update this year. However, now LG has announced that Apple TV app is now rolling out on all 2019 TV models in more than 80 countries.
The users will have access to Apple TV App and also on the new streaming service Apple TV+. Both the app has arrived on LG smart TVs. LG announced about the launch in the US this week. They also said the app would be coming to 2018 TV models later this year. The user can use the new app from LG Home Launcher and can stream Apple TV+ shows, access their iTunes video library, subscribe to Apple TV channels. From iTunes, the user can buy or rent more than 100,000 movies and TV shows.
Moreover, the latest LG TV will support Dolby Vision, just like Apple TV+ content. Apple’s Airplay 2 is also available on the app, which allows the user to mirror the content from iPhone, iPad, or Mac on their TV. Apple’s HomeKit allows the TV to be controlled by Apple’s Home App or can use Siri.
Everything from Apple TV app like AirPlay 2, HomeKit, Apple TV app will work on all the LG’s 2019 OLED TVs and also on NanoCell TV series SM9X and SM8X. At the end of this month, the App will come on UHD TV series UM7X and UM6X. And at the end of this year, the new update support will be extended to other LGs 2018 models through an over-the-air firmware upgrade. The company says, whoever buys 2020 LG TV will get the Apple TV app available at the same time.
Samsung was the first brand to have TV App on so many smart TVs. As of now, other TV manufacturers like VIZIO and SONY only offers AirPlay 2 support.
