Instagram has launched a new QR Code feature which will allow you to access others profiles. One can scan these QR Codes from any third-party camera apps. If you want to visit anyone’s Instagram profile then you can use this new QR Code feature.
Universal QR Code Feature Live on Instagram
This new Universal QR Code feature helps the users to look for peoples and also for business. Just open any camera app available on your smartphone and scan the code. Moreover, this QR Code feature was available for Japan users from last year, and now it has been rolled out globally.

How to use QR Code Feature on Instagram?
- First, you need to open your Instagram app and go to the Settings menu.
- There you will see QR Code option under Your Activity option.
- Click on it, and you will see your emoji-clad Instagram QR code with your profile name.
If you want, you can change the look of your Instagram QR Code. For that, you need to click on the Selfie option, which is available at the top. Click on it and select any emoji, and colour of your choice. Once you are done, your QR Code is ready as you want.
Moreover, you can share the QR code with your friends through other apps. For that, Open the QR Code and click on share option at the top right corner then select “Scan QR Code” option to scan it with others.
For your information, this new feature is replaced with the previous one which was same. Earlier, Instagram had a Nametag feature which allowed the users to follow people by scanning the emoji-filled QR code.
The only difference between the new QR Codes and Nametag is the QR Codes can be used through any camera app to check others Instagram profile. But the Nametags feature was using only Instagram’s in-built camera.
If you don’t know, recently Whatsapp has also brought the QR Code feature. With the help of this QR Code, one can easily add other people on Whatsapp without saving the contact number. Many other apps like Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Spotify also supports QR Code feature.
