Google Workspace is now Free for all Gmail Users

The tech giant Google has announced that its Workspace suite is now free for everyone who has a Google account. With this move, it will take on other rivals like Microsoft and will become a popular suite office product in the market.

The workspace was earlier called G Suite, which now allows everyone to use all its extra features for free in Drive, Meet, Docs, Sheets, and more. Earlier, it had both paid and free versions, where paid version had more functionality.

Google Workspace is now Free for all Gmail Users

So, now all the three billion users of Google can use the Workspace platform for free. All Gmail users, chat, docs, and other apps don’t need to pay subscription fees. To use Google Workspace, you need to have a google account and not an enterprise profile to use extra features in apps like Docs, Meet, Drive, and more.

In a press release, the company said,

“now, all of the company’s three billion-plus existing users across consumer, enterprise, and education have access to the full Google Workspace experience.”

When Google Workspace was paid, the plans started from ₹125 per user per month for Business Starter, ₹672 per user per month for Business Standard, and ₹1260 per user per month for Business Plus. It had a free trial for 14 days, after which you can get the subscription.

However, now, all the features are free to use, and there are few new features for the free tier that has some challenges that users will face while switching. Google chat will be updated, new subscription offers, and security on the platform.

The vice president of Google Workspace said,

“Collaboration doesn’t stop at the workplace – our products have been optimised for broad participation, sharing and helpfulness since the beginning. Our focus is on delivering consumers, workers, teachers and students alike an equitable approach to collaboration, while still providing flexibility that allows these different subsets of users to take their own approach to communication and collaboration.”

Apart from this, Google is bringing a new project that will be paid and is called a Workspace Individual. This project aims at entrepreneurs and other individuals who work alone or is a part of small businesses.

There will be premium features like booking services, professional video meetings, and personalized email marketing with this new project. In the future, it will add more features for the users.

However, there are no details on pricing, but you can sign-up for free to get more information. The Workspace Individual will be first arriving in few regions, including United States, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Australia.
