Google has launched a new called “People Cards” which allows you to build your public profile on google. With the help of the new feature, the users can create a virtual visiting card with the information they wish to show to everyone.
People Cards feature by Google to create Virtual Visiting Cards
People Cards feature is available in India only. From the past couple of years, the feature was in testing and now finally it is out. On the virtual visiting cards, the users can highlight their websites or social media profiles to show their identity. To display the information which is provided by the users, it uses Google’s Knowledge Graph. If you want to create a virtual card, you need to provide your mobile number and a Google Account.
The People Cards feature is available for mobile users, so log in to your Google account on your Mobile phone and create your profile. As of now, only English language is available other languages will be added later.
A product manager of Google Search, Lauren Clark said,
“You may be wondering why we’re launching this feature in India first. We are always looking for new ways to make search more useful for people, and we found that there were some unique information needs to India that we could help serve first.”
The main aim of the new feature is to let the users have a public profile on Google Search. This profile will be shown on top of all results. Earlier, it was shown as a profile card.
According to Google, with People Cards, it wants to provide helpful and reliable information to the public. Only one people card can be made per one Google Account.
All those users who already created their cards on Google now have the ability to opt-out of activity anytime. If people has the same name, then Google Search will show multiple modules.
How to create your own people card on Google?
If you want to create your own people card on Google, then follow the steps and create your card.
- First sign in to your Google Account
- Look for “add me to Search” option
- There you will see an option of “Add yourself to Google Search.”
- Click on it, and it will ask you to enter your phone number
- Verify it with OTP and start the process.
- Then you will get a form by Google.
- Create your Public profile by adding location, entering description about you and much more.
- You can also add details about education, work, hometown, websites and more.
