As per some reports from ETNews, Apple is planning to put thinner OLED Displays on all of the models of iPhone 12 in 2020. This comes after the rumours that all of the iPhone 12 models will be having 6GB of RAM and have 5G support.

This comes after, a new Samsung technology called Y-OCTA, which enables the direct patterning of touchscreen circuits on the OLED panel without the need for a separate layer, resulting in a thinner display and lower production costs.

ETNews has quoted “This panel is an OLED panel that has touch function built-in. The touch sensor is placed on top of thin-film encapsulation inside of a panel. Touch function in the past attaches a touch film on a panel. Because on-cell touch OLED panel does not require a separate film, it can lead to a thinner display and reduce production cost.”

The source has also confirmed that the new iPhone sizes will start from 5.4 inches to 6.7 inches. Introduction of these sizes will be a complete rework of the concept of the modern iPhone.

Source quotes,” Because Apple saw the strengths of on-cell touch OLED panel and Samsung Display is the only company that can mass-produce this panel, Apple has requested supplies of 5.4-inch and 6.7-inch OLED panels from Samsung Display.”

The rework and rumours of these iPhone 12 are proving to be a real treat for ones who are looking forward to the September 2020 launch.
