Aarogya Setu Application Update: New Features Added!

The National Informatics Centre (NIC) has pushed out a new update for the Coronavirus Contact tracing application. The update includes a new menu with a new QR Code feature that allows other users to scan the code to know the health status of the other user. The QR code can also be used as a Health Pass in Metros, Airports and Railway Stations by the Security and health officials.
The app has now been updated from v1.1.3 to v1.2.2 which is opensource and present on the NIC-Delhi Github Repository. The application has been installed by 11.7 Crore users and is used widely and is mandatory for every passenger on a Domestic Flight and Railway Train.
The Aarogya Setu application is touted to be a new version of Health pass in the post-COVID-19 world in India as the application has integrated E-pass, which the users can use it as a Railway, Metro and Aeroplane ticket so the places would be contactless which everyone is pushing for now.
The source code of the application was made public by the NIC and the PIB on the 25th of May 2020 after many users and developers asked the application to be made opensource to allow developers to analyze the code and even integrate the application to their own App for easier usage.
The update is being well appreciated by users around India as it makes the application easier to operate with many more features than the last version of the application. Now we look forward to the Google-Apple API integration to the Aarogya Setu Application.
